Access Control & Restricted Keys

Access Control is important for businesses.

The ways we recommend for access control is basic SFIC (small format interchangeable core) or a Restricted Keyway.

SFIC

These key systems are detailed oriented. Never have remove hardware again to have locks rekeyed. Most cylinders have 3 keys each with a purpose. 1 master key used across all locks to open it (manager or owners key), 1 change key used to remove just the locking cylinder for rekeying, and 1 operator key.

Restricted Keyways

For us the restricted keyway of choice is the GMS MX13 system

Why a restricted key? Well for that our answer is simple, ultimate key control.

  1. Highly Secure Locking Mechanisms:

One of the primary motivations behind adopting a restricted key system is to achieve an unparalleled level of security.

While there are various security solutions available, opting for restricted key access stands out as one of the most robust options. This system utilizes specialized security blanks that are exclusively accessible and duplicable through reputable locksmith businesses specializing in restricted or master key systems. Consequently, unauthorized key duplication is prevented. Moreover, the use of restricted keys enhances the security of locks by minimizing the likelihood of accidental unlocking with an incorrect key

  1. Controlled Duplication and Patented Security Key Blanks:

One significant issue with conventional keys is their susceptibility to theft, loss, and unauthorized duplication, potentially leading to breaches of security in both residential and commercial settings. However, this vulnerability is mitigated with restricted key access. Security key blanks are safeguarded by patents, capturing the precise design of the key and preventing unauthorized reproduction.

This protective system operates by limiting key availability exclusively to authorized individuals, with reputable locksmiths adhering to strict ethical codes to prevent unauthorized duplication. At Lock Stock, we uphold stringent ethical standards to guarantee the integrity of this process.

  1. Comprehensive Key Records Management:

Upon cutting the necessary keys, meticulous records are meticulously maintained. Only authorized individuals have the privilege of obtaining a key copy, ensuring that lost or stolen keys cannot be replicated.

The restricted key system is intricately designed to utilize security blanks exclusively obtainable from the locksmith business that originated the system. Detailed records accompany each key at your locksmith, establishing a robust framework for key access management. These records, meticulously upheld by your locksmith, leave no room for unauthorized key duplication. Each key is assigned a unique issue and system number, meticulously logged in these records to identify users and ensure heightened levels of secure access.

To sustain a secure system over time, proactive planning is essential. A well-designed system should remain adaptable to evolving needs and requirements. Factors such as the number of keys, the level of access granted to each key holder, and the identities of authorized individuals should be carefully considered. The discretion in determining the number of authorized personnel adds an additional layer of protection, requiring prudence in selecting individuals for inclusion in this system.

  1. Enhanced Access Management and Control:

The system provides enhanced access management and control capabilities for both residential and commercial settings. It empowers you to limit key availability to authorized individuals or implement a multi-level master key system tailored to the diverse requirements of various personnel within an organization or household. Restricted or registered key systems offer secure access control solutions suitable for commercial, residential, and institutional environments.

  1. Resistant to Lock Picking:

Thanks to the keys’ precision-designed warding, the likelihood of lock picking or unauthorized key insertion into the cylinder is significantly reduced. Traditional keys and locks often suffer from vulnerability to picking by skilled individuals. However, in a restricted key system, both locks and keys are purposefully engineered to be ‘pick-proof,’ alleviating concerns about unauthorized access.
